Enigma Presents: Marie Misfit

For those inclined towards the world of makeup artistry, Enigma The Agencies new series “Enigma Presents” is not to be missed. Killiney based Enigma The Agency represents MUAs, hair stylists and fashion stylists across Ireland and the UK. Enigma will be present Marie Misfit as their first artist to speak in the series and provide a master class for body makeup.

Irish born Marie is an internationally acclaimed makeup artist and jewellery designer. Having completed a BA in Visual Communication in DIT, Marie became a self taught body artist with a penchant for all things gory, girly and ghoulish. Her work has been featured in national and international publications, and she has participated in various makeup competitions worldwide. Her most recent achievements include being a finalist in the 2013 Illasmasqua Distinction in Makeup Awards and being a recipient of Cinema Makeup School Ve Neill Legends of Makeup scholarship in L.A this year, a place coveted and entered by artists on an international scale. Marie manages her own jewellery company, Queen Obscene, and hand crafts every product individually.

Marie will host a three hour seminar covering a teaching her techniques and featuring live demos. She will cover a number of topics such as discussing face and body painting techniques, the various types of paint for face and body and the differences in what kinds are used, how to create custom stencils, and perform demos of her most well known looks. There will be introduction lessons to airbrushing and using alcohol based paints. Attendees with receive a goodie bag to valued at €20 minimum, be provided with full printed information of everything summarised, and there will be a coffee and tea break with food provided.

Marie’s work draws inspiration from a broad range of areas, from classical horror films to the work of Roy Lichtenstein & Karla Powell.
