Four of the six sabbatical officer positions will be contested in the upcoming UCDSU Elections. The Current Education Officer Martha Ní Ríada is the only candidate currently running for SU President, as the Welfare race has three successfully nominated candidates.

The full list of candidates which was announced by the UCDSU Returning Officer Darryl Horan on Friday, was as follows:

Two of the sabbatical roles are uncontested; the only candidate for the role of President was the current Education Officer, Martha Ní Ríada, and only current Health Science College Officer Sarah McGrath is running for Education Officer position.

Current graduate officer, Marc Matouc, is rerunning for his current position but will be running against UCD Master of Public Health student Lakshmi Palavesam

There are two candidates for Campaigns and Engagement Officer, former AHSS College Officer Miranda Bauer and current Science College Officer Ryan Corley

The position of Welfare Officer has two candidates, Katie Connolly and Jill Nelis. 

Entertainments Officer will also see three candidates compete for the position: Elliot Meinhart, Neo O’Herlihy and Amy Barter.

Edit: 06.03.2023 – The UCDSU Returning Office has informed the College Tribune that Chris O’Dwyer has withdrawn from the race for Welfare Officer after the publication of the nominated candidates on Friday.
