The Program Office of Arts and Human Sciences have sent a mass email to students informing them of an outbreak of mumps on campus.

In the email the office confirmed that the outbreak has been reported in first and second year Arts, but warns of the spread of the virus to other students, through kissing, coughing and sneezing.

Students have been warned to be alert for symptoms of fever, headaches, and swollen glands.

All students have been advised to ensure that they have had 2 MMR vaccines, for measles, mumps and rubella, and were informed that if they had not received the vaccine, they could call their student health services on 01 716 3133.
