The UCD Student Bar has confirmed that all drinks will cost €1 tomorrow, site Monday. The promotion is part of a renewed attempt by management to attract more students to the bar.

The promotion will run from noon tomorrow until 2am on Tuesday morning with all pints, health bottles and shots priced at €1 and spirits and mixer at €1.50. Meals in the bar will also be at a discounted rate, with any dinner for €3.

The College Tribune also understands that entertainment is planned with acts such as the Saw Doctors, Ryan Sheridan and Daft Funk beginning in the bar at 3pm.

UCD Students’ Union Entertainment Vice-President Stephen D’arcy told the College Tribune, “we want to put a bit of life back into the bar. We are holding this event for students tomorrow so they can enjoy themselves one last time before everyone starts studying for exams.”

“We’ve had the idea for quite some time, but it has taken a while to put together,” he added.

D’arcy also confirmed to the College Tribune that another major act is set to be announced for the UCD Ball later this week.

A senior SU source told the College Tribune, “students will be truly amazed when they hear about this act. We have liaised with the university to implement additional security as we think this act will really get the crowd going.”

The source would not confirm the name of the act but said, “we have campaigned tirelessly to get this act, and let’s just say we might have ninety-nine problems, but he isn’t one.”
