Archer has returned for an explosive sixth season collecting over 1.51 million viewers on its premier in the US alone. The story picks up only six weeks after the end of Archer: Vice and shows that some things never change. Sterling Archer is still avoiding his duty with cobra whiskey and prostitutes, Malory is still a high functioning alcoholic in charge of an office of idiots, and Lana is as bossy as ever. The return to the old spy mission format will hopefully be more successful than the previous series which received the lowest ratings for a season of Archer and saw the gang turn into a drug cartel.

There are some noticeable changes. It is still unclear whether Krieger is really himself or whether he is actually evil Krieger. Cheryl has returned in place of her country music alter-ego, but writers of the series have assured fans that Cherlene will reappear at some point in the season. Then of course there is little baby Abbiejean, who will grow up with quite possibly the most dysfunctional family in the world, with a Lana as her mother, Archer as a father, and Malory as a grandmother. What could go wrong.

The show really has been a standout animated comedy series since it first aired in 2010 and in March 2014 FX renewed the series for a sixth and seventh season, each consisting of thirteen episodes. The cast have all returned for the next season despite their massively busy schedules, many of the cast are involved with shows like Bob’s Burgers, Rick and Morty, Bojack Horseman, and other adult oriented cartoons, among other shows. Regardless of how busy the cast are, the fans are just excited for Archer and Co. to continue taking care of business.
