The Editor positions with The College Tribune are full-time* and demanding. Throughout the year, it is expected that the editor will produce six print publications while also updating and managing the College Tribune’s website and social media pages. In addition to writing articles and editing the work of others, the editor is required to find advertising to fund the printing of each issue.
As the head of the Tribune, the editor will act as a team manager. Editors will appoint section editors, contributors, and reporters to each beat. The editor is also tasked with upholding the legacy of The College Tribune through ethical and high-quality reporting.
Those who are selected as editors will have a training period and a two-week handover process to ensure that they are comfortable with the various aspects of the role before the term begins.
Necessary Qualifications/Skills:
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Attention to detail
- Team player
- Creativity
- Copy-editing experience (desirable)
- Graphic design experience (desirable)
- Journalism experience
